I too can no longer play Bespelled. I downloaded the ONLY free Java available from Sun Microsystems. It will let me play Alchemy, BUT the help pages on MSN Games Zone say that Bespelled is incompatible with this version of Java. I looked at this page to try to find which version of Java I do need! I need some assistance on how to sign onto the yahoo game server. When I try to get into yahoo pool I keep getting an alert box that says unable to connect to server... As far as getting to play in Yahoo games, I have downloaded the "Java web start" program that I found on CNET.com that works fine when I play games in yahoo but only when I bring up internet explorer. lost my operating system the other day. Reinstalled Window-xp(Home) and all seems ok with some exceptions. Just an FYI... I found if you have IE 6.0 and Firefox 1.0 installed, if you have Sun Java installe, it also shows in IE ( tools, internet options, advanced) and it is checked, if you uncheck Sun java, it POGO loads normally (in IE 6.0) Hope that helps someone Scott SF, Ca USA - Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 12:17:00 (CST)

Hi, This post is to help anyone with java problems. If you are having problems loading games in yahoo or pogo.com then you need to check to see if you have these programs on your computer. If you have recently downloaded any file sharing programs like KAZAA, you need to remove it. There is something in it that disables java! this is the only way to restore java! If you have any firewall programs like norton internet security then you need to either disable it, go into the options and allow active x programs to flow, or if you just don't have a clue then remove it! These are the major problems i have experienced with java. I hope that this helps more people with the same issues. For the past five months, I have been trying to figure out how to get java on my computer. I ran into this problem after I decided to get DSL and upgraded my OS from Windows ME to Windows XP Home Edition. Before that I had no problems. I went to java.com and yes I successfully downloaded the java runtime environment and java plugin. I deleted my caches, temporary files and intalled the latest updates and Internet Explorer. Still, I couldn't play no games that required java. I found a website that gives excellent illustrations and tells you what you need to do if you do not have the java virtual machine installed on your computer. Go to Windows Update and install them all. I did this and when I restarted my computer there was some type of java virus and I quarantined it and I can FINALLY play games again after 2 months of trying everything! As with many other users on here, I am having a problem getting into yahoo games. The java appalet will not load. Instead I get a blank screen with a little geometric shape in the corner. I am going through game withdrawl and have lost my patience trying to fix the problem with no idea what is wrong. All my virtual machine(3 options) are checked. Okay, it seems that the same problem is going on everywhere with the Yahoo games board. It also appears that everyone is trying to play the games and unable to open up the screen. Had the same problem with Applets Not Loading in Yahoo,for chat or games. I just upgraded Java 2 to Java 4, and realized that was when I started having problmens. I had XP uninstall Java 4, and it all now works. Not being really computer literate, I don't know what Java 4 advantages are, but wanted to pass this on. Well a few weeks ago I tried to go play Pool @ Yahoo Games like I always do, but for some reason it wouldn't let me. And the same thing for any other games I tried. It really sucked. It loaded everything except the actual game rooms. It loaded the ads at the top of the screen, the "Click here if Appelet fails to load within 3 minutes. It had this blank screen underneath all of that. In the blank screen, it had a little box in the top left corner and inside it were a blue triangle, blue circle, and red square. Can someone help me? Hi, is there a java chat applet based on Mircrosoft Comic Chat? If so I need one such as that. Basically a java chat applet for my website. For help. The chat room the applet will be connecting to will be moderated. I really like the way that the Mircrosoft Comic Chat has it set up. When you enter a moderated room you have glasses next to your name. The hosts in that room have a gavel (judge thingy), and when a host allows you to talk to answer your question your glasses change to a little dialog box. Alright so im trying to make a clock using japplet and so far this is what i have. I want to use my input from hours/minutes and put it in degrees which then would move the clock hands. This is for everyone having problems loading games because of java (especially Xp). I followed was a lot of posts said on various sites. I found the most common answer was to go to this site http://www.wildtangent.com/install/jvm/msjavx86_3805.exe . However i still had no success loading most games. After a lot of reading I found the solution. I recommend you go to www.java.com and download java from there. Im not sure if anyone is aware that the makers of java and microsoft have been in court. I beleive the time has arrived where I need to get my feet wet in Java programming. I work as a Database programmer in a US military hospital. I have an application where I make printed patrient address labels for our doctors, nurses and Medical techs. This way they can do mailings to their patients on various medical care items pertaining to their recent visit, surgery, etc. I did the application in ASP using a Crystal Reports ActiveX control that worked fine until we deployed our WinXP Pro clients. Everything in the app works except the ActiveX control that does the actual label printing. So, here is my question, is there a Java Applet I can get that will do Avery label printing if I provided it an XML datastream? Thanks!!! Can't get into pogo rooms now - get sent back to desktop. have POPSWATTER installed but could get in with it before, disabled and still sent to desktop. My computer had several corrupt files in it. They were removed and windows 98 was reinstalled. I can't get into any slingo rooms. It says I am logged on, but when I try to get into rooms, it says I'm not logged on. Without being logged on, I can't communicate with slingo direct. Could this be a java script problem?
